Let’s be honest here. Is there anything better than a singing and dancing Hugh Jackman?
Okay to be honest I wasn’t a huge fan of how this was executed BUT I love the concept and I love musicals. So.
Huge thanks to Paige for tagging me to do the Greatest Showman book tag! I watched this movie when I was on a flight to Australia, and so now I will always relate it to being delirious after a 13 hour flight with very little sleep. ANYWAY…
This tag originated at The perks of being a daydreamer so please check her out!
The Greatest Show
Pick a book that is the best book you’ve read and gave you all the feels
I translate ‘all the feels’ to ‘book that made you squeal with delight’ and for me, that would have been Anna and the French Kiss, because I am a sucker for Parisian romances.
A Million Dreams
Pick a book that left you dreaming about it after you finished it
I’m going to go non-fiction here and say Bloom, because Estée is a Canadian who moved abroad to England and is living her best life there and that’s all I’ve ever wanted to do since I was a wee small child.
Pick a book where a character finally accepts themselves
Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda is the first book that comes to find. It’s such a cute and important story about recognising who you are and how you’ll always be happiest by being your true self.
The Other Side
A book/character that changed your opinion on them
This might anger some people, but Severus Snape. I was definitely on the pro-Snape train for a good majority of my life, but then I realised the only reason I was doing so was because it was the default thing to do. Bullying is just not okay, no matter who you are in love with.
An author or book series you could never get enough of
I will never get enough of the Her Royal Spyness mysteries. It’s a good thing there are twelve of them, but I’m still taking it slow to make them last as long as possible.
This Is Me
A book you love despite everyone hating it
Actually, I don’t think I have an answer for that! I tend to agree with the populace on most things. I have noticed that the Uglies series has a much lower average rating on Goodreads than I gave it, but I attribute that to the fact that I first read and fell in love with it when I was much younger without the capabilities of critical reading.
Rewrite The Stars
A bookish OTP that over comes a lot to finally be together
I’m going to go with my first ever OTP (before I even knew what an OTP was) and say Ron and Hermione. I was shipping them from day one y’all. They went through a lot of ups and downs with their relationship and while it frustrated me beyond recognition, I spent most of my childhood shouting “just kiss already!” at the TV screen.
An author/book series that gives you trust issues
I will never read another Colleen Hoover book because of It Ends With Us. I was disgusted by how the characters in that book were written, and despite her excellent reputation and high average book rating, I have no interest in reading another book of hers.
From Now On
A book you’ve ignored for so long and finally need to read
I’ve had A Darker Shade of Magic on the back burner for what feels like ages. I have no real reason because I want to read it so badly, but I always get distracted by other books whenever it’s time to choose a new read.
Some of these questions were kind of hard! I really enjoy trying to incorporate books I don’t talk about a lot into these kinds of posts, because it seems like the same books are getting discussed over and over (and for good reason!), but other books deserve the chance to shine, too.
I’m not going to tag anyone specific for this post, but if you are interested please feel free to do it anyway! I’d love to see all of your answers, so please tag me!
(Of course you can. You go do you, Zachie.)
