Mean Girls Tag | Happy October 3rd!

Y’all, it’s October 3rd.

Despite the fact I’m not a huge Mean Girls fan (I’m more of a Clueless girl), I couldn’t resist doing a Mean Girls tag on October 3rd. Which also happens to be a Wednesday.

I’m obviously not the only person with this idea, so I did a little digging to find this tag created by TheBookLife on Youtube! Thanks girl! Also, I hope you guys like seeing tags, because I have so many piling up in my drafts right now? One day they’re going to burst out all at once, I think.

“It’s pronounced like Cady”

Which fictional character’s names did you get completely wrong?

I’m definitely not the only one to get Hermione’s name wrong in the first few Harry Potter books. I always pronounced it like “Hermy-won” in my head (to be fair, I was like seven).
Also, not a character name but I definitely pronounced Erudite wrong in the Divergent series until the movie came out. Which is almost worse because that’s a real word in the English language, which I’m supposedly fluent in?

“She doesn’t even go here!”

Which character would you like to place in a fictional world from another book or series?

But I don’t doooooo crossovers.

Okay I did actually do a post about this awhile back for Top Ten Tuesday. I think I would go with Luna in Wonderland then, because duh?

“On Wednesdays we wear pink!”

Repetition. Repetition. Which book gave you déjà vu of another book whilst reading it?

The Matched trilogy by Ally Condie is literally a combination of every single dystopian series I’ve ever read. I remember reading it in high school and wondering what on Earth it was bringing to the table. (I still haven’t read Reached – but I do plan to. Probably.)

“You all have got to stop calling each other sluts and whores. It just makes it okay for guys to call you sluts and whores.”

Which book gave you the complete opposite of girl power feels?

One of the first ever ARCs I read was called Fire and Bone. I never published the review here (but it’s on my Goodreads if you’re interested) because I felt bad about not liking a book and talking so much about it. One of the major complaints I don’t mind mentioning though is the sour relationship between the MC and her SO’s sister, which doesn’t have any background or legitimacy whatsoever?

“You go Glen Coco!”

Name a character you felt like you wanted to cheer on whilst reading.

Right now it’s Adam Parrish from The Raven Cycle, because I will always love him also I just spoiled his ending for myself last night and I have no regrets.

“Get in loser, we’re going shopping!”

How long do you typically spend at a book shop?

I actually…don’t spend hours in them. I mean I could, totally. But then I end up buying books that I won’t be reading for a long time probably and I’m trying so hard to limit the books I buy. Also I’m a big fan of my library.
The one thing I can’t resist though is the bargain table. They rarely have bestsellers on there (why would they) so it’s usually just half-okay historical books but somehow they end up in my bag and I black out until I get home with significantly less money in my bank account.

“It’s not my fault you’re like in love with me or something!”

Which character would have to get out a restraining order on you, if they were real?

You know, I’d like to think I wouldn’t be all stalker-y with people. That’s just a thing I don’t really want to do.
On the other hand, I really really want to be Jules’ (from Three Dark Crowns) friend really badly because she has a pet mountain lion.

“I can’t help it that I’m popular.”

Which overhyped book were you cautious about reading?

The Raven Boys (and ultimately the rest of the series), but it was totally worth the hype and have I mentioned how much I love Adam Parrish?

“She’s a life ruiner. She ruins people’s lives.”

We all love Regina George. Name a villian you just love to hate.

I have a weird obsession with Bellatrix Lestrange, and I am almost 100% certain it is entirely Helena Bonham-Carter’s fault. I didn’t even care about her that much until the movies came out???

“I’m not like a regular Mom, I’m a cool Mom.”

Your favourite fictional parents.

Since we’re on a Raven Cycle roll right now, I’m going to go with Maura Sargent, because she seems like a mom who is not entirely sure how to be a mom but still tries hard to exert authority. It just doesn’t always work.
Other than that, Molly and Arthur Weasley, obviously!

“That is so Fetch!”

Which book or series would you love to catch on?

(It’s Her Royal Spyness.)

“How do I even begin to explain Regina George?”

Describe your ideal character to read about.

I don’t think I have one, actually. I’ve never really thought about it before. I’m way more partial to female characters, but that’s just a personal connection thing. I also tend to like characters who don’t have a ton of friends but instead just a few good ones? I also like characters who are able to find their own style and likes and dislikes without having too much peer pressure and pop culture seeping into their choices. But like, in a non-obnoxious way.

“I just have a lot of feelings.”

What do you do when a book gives you a bad case of ‘the feels’?

I cry about it.

I probably read my favourite passages over again. Watch the movie (if there is one). Search for a “Which character are you?” quiz so I know which character I am.

Also I tell everyone about it until they scream at me to shut up. Have I mentioned Her Royal Spyness yet?

“Nice wig Janice, what’s it made of?” “Your Mom’s chest hair!”

Which character’s one liners would you love to claim for your own?

Ginny Weasley has amazing one-liners and not a single one of them made it into the movies which is so unfair!!! My favourite one is about Harry’s hippogriff tattoo.

“Boo, you whore.”

Name a time a character’s decision has made you roll your eyes

Literally any time a female character makes a decision based on her feelings for a guy. ESPECIALLY if the decision is in regards to her future. I almost crawled into Always and Forever, Lara Jean to give her a talking to because she was thinking about going to a certain college because of Peter. I mean Peter is great, but GIRL.

  1. Yes yes YES I’m loving all of the Adam Parrish mentions in this post. He’s such a sweetheart UGH. Also AHH I know exactly how things end up for him too because I’ve literally read all the last parts of TRK without reading the whole book?? Why. And I might’ve also read the short story that takes place AFTER TRK too because I make bad decisions. But I had to know if he was happy!! It was important lol.

  2. This is such a cool tag!!!!

I thought the same thing when that happened in Always & Forever, Lara Jean. Didn’t Margot even say about not having a boyfriend when she went into college? Then Lara Jean was ready to ditch her plans to be with her boyfriend…that part had me so puzzled lol.
